Postgraduate Taught UK Update as of July 2025
Our unique Pulse trackers and Share of Search data provide insights on thousands of prospective students interested in UK Masters study opportunities. As of July 2025, we’re seeing that:
- International (non-EU) search interest in UK Masters study continues to trend significantly above last year’s level, despite the slight rise in uncertainty we saw in the wake of the Immigration white paper in May. Interest from the EU hovers around last year’s level.
- Much of this interest for UK Masters continues to be driven by growth from a variety of African, South Asian and Southeast Asian regions. Neither Nepal or Bangladesh are top of the list of fastest-growing audiences for the first month this year.
- All audiences continue to shift their entry point interest towards Spring 2026 and beyond. Despite this trend, just under half of UK Returners are still targeting Autumn 2025.
- Our Spotlight this month explores how interest for study in the US and UK has been affected throughout the last year. We see that growth trends are often mirrored between the two study destinations. For example, interest in the USA fell following the election, and that fall accelerated in Q2 as policy announcements ramped up. The opposite is true of interest in the UK, with interest growing in Q1 and that growth accelerating though Q2 - suggesting a US-UK pivot. We have further explored signs of a US-UK pivot on the blog.
