Postgraduate Research Pulse Update as of Aug 2023

Our unique Pulse trackers and Share of Search data provide insights on thousands of prospective international students interested in UK PhD opportunities. As of Aug 2023, we’re seeing that:

• Domestic confidence in UK doctoral research has dipped slightly but not significantly in July; the pipeline is on the verge of switching over from Autumn 23 to Spring 24
• Both domestic and European audiences continue to grow their Share of Search year-on-year, with the latter increasing fastest
• Interest in Computer Science is up year-on-year both domestically and internationally, driven by audiences seeking projects in AI and Machine Learning); Business & Economics is also doing well.
