Postgraduate Research Global Update as of March 2025

Our unique Pulse trackers and Share of Search data provide insights on thousands of prospective international students interested in Global PhD opportunities. As of March 2025, we’re seeing that:

• Interest in US research continues to fall from European, North American and African audiences, while it sees slight growth from Asia. German and Australian PhD study continue to see interest fall from all audiences.
  
  
• We see interest in On Campus study grow for all audiences. Conversely, the demand for Blended delivery falls from Asian, North American and European audiences.
  
  
• Autumn 2025 is the most popular entry point for all destinations, with around two-thirds of prospective students seeking this entry point. Those considering Italian and Irish study are the most likely to be looking at 2025 entry, whereas those considering North American study are the most likely to be thinking about 2026 entry.
  
  
• Technology fields continue to see growth in Irish research, most notably Artificial Intelligence - which also sees growth in US and Australian research.
