Our unique Pulse trackers and Share of Search data provide insights on thousands of prospective international students interested in Global PhD opportunities. As of September 2024, we’re seeing that:

• Canada is seeing a fall in interest across European, North American and African audiences, indicating a response to recent policy changes and media coverage.
  
  
• European and North American audiences see a rise in interest for On Campus research opportunities.
  
  
• Spring 2025 is the most popular entry point across a range of destinations. The pipeline for the USA is slightly longer, with audiences more likely to consider the 2025/26 academic year.
  
  
• AI interest continues to grow, but there are big shifts elsewhere in the behaviour of Asian, North American and European audiences. African search trends are relatively stable.
