Postgraduate Research Pulse Update as of May 2024

Our unique Pulse trackers and Share of Search data provide insights on thousands of prospective international students interested in UK PhD opportunities. As of May 2024, we’re seeing that:

• Domestic audiences are becoming more lukewarm or uncertain in their attitudes to PGR study; there is a similar, but smaller, effect for international.
• International Share of Search for the UK remains stable (and much higher than for PGT) with a slight drop in April that may reflect Graduate Route uncertainty.
• Artificial Intelligence continues to lead the way for year-on-year search growth. The other four fastest growing disciplines are also related to Computer Science.
