Postgraduate Taught UK Update as of December 2024

Our unique Pulse trackers and Share of Search data provide insights on thousands of prospective international students interested in UK Masters study opportunities. As of December 2024, we’re seeing that:

• EU interest in UK Masters study sees a recovery after a recent fall. International (non-EU) interest continues to trend slightly below last year’s levels.
  
  
• Domestic confidence is at its highest level since January. International audiences are also feeling less negative and more confident about UK study than we’ve typically seen over the last 12 months.
  
  
• Interest in Biological Science and Engineering fields continues to increase and the 5 fastest growing specialisms all come from these discipline areas.
  
  
• Our Spotlight this month asks whether we appreciate the difference between those audiences who want to study at postgraduate level and those who successfully do so - something our data is uniquely equipped to explore. For example, nearly half of the prospective audience for Science & Engineering Masters is female, but women only account for a little over a third of enrolments.
