This session looked at the development and execution of a strategy to reach black heritage student audiences for a range of events and programmes.
We brought insights on how Imperial College London developed bespoke scholarships for students of black heritage.
Here are some of the key takeaways:
- Knowledge and understanding of how to develop a campaign that engages ethnically focused student audiences
- Insights on how to target organisations and schools
- An understanding of how digital marketing can be leveraged for ethnically focused campaigns
- Information about what student engagement and long-term success looks like.
This session was delivered by Gareth Bell from Digital Revolutions, a digital marketing agency, and Professor Sara Rankin FRSB (Fellowship of the Royal Society of Biology) from Imperial College London.
Digital Revolutions and Imperial College London built connections and contacts with organisations working on increasing black inclusivity within STEM to build engagement with the campaign and event activities, and Digital Revolutions carried out a targeted digital marketing campaign using channels such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and FindAMasters.
Their campaign won the “Outstanding Contribution to Postgraduate Support & Wellbeing” category in our Postgrad Awards this year.
