EAIE 2025 – Highlights from Gothenburg

We’re back from EAIE 2025, the annual European Association for International Education conference, held in Gothenburg in September, with full notebooks, fuller calendars, and a real sense of momentum. From morning coffees that sparked collaborations to conversations that solved real challenges, this year felt wonderfully people-first - exactly why we keep returning. As Somaia Hoyle, International Sales Manager, predicted before we left: “Bigger and better than ever.” She was right.

A quick thank you

To everyone who visited the Keystone booth (Q49), we loved hearing about your goals and swapping ideas. To those who booked 1:1 meetings, your candour and focus made for productive, practical conversations.

We also want to highlight our brilliant team on the ground - Amy Ward, Commercial Director, Somaia Hoyle, Gareth Thornley, Senior Business Development Manager, and Rob Hardy, Managing Director - who spent the week listening, advising, and connecting dots for partners across regions. It’s safe to say that without their dedication, EAIE wouldn’t be the highlight of the year it is.

A moment that summed up the event perfectly came from Gareth: “While technology is great for convenience, EAIE reminded me that nothing beats meeting colleagues and university partners in person to strengthen relationships. I also discovered that Keystone certainly know how to host a drinks reception!” (FindAUniversity is part of the Keystone Education Group – they bring everyone together in a welcoming and productive way.)

What stood out in Gothenburg

EAIE always brings together a wealth of ideas, but a few themes particularly stood out this year:

Honest conversations about student experience: Clear, timely communication and reducing unnecessary hurdles for students were recurring topics.

Practical data use: Universities shared how they connect insights to actions - by subject, market, and stage - to reduce student drop-off.
Partnerships with purpose: long-term relationships with alumni, schools, and employers were prioritised over short-term wins.

How we supported conversations

Many of you wanted to explore new approaches to international postgraduate student recruitment. Here’s how we collaborated:

Audience reach and targeting: Mapping campaigns across our platforms FindAMasters and FindAPhD, plus email, off-site, and retargeting to reach the right candidates globally.
Messaging that builds trust: Showcasing student and academic voices, while clarifying value propositions for specific markets.
Event strategy: Blending virtual and in-person events to open access and maintain momentum between peak travel periods.

Why this matters for our partners

Our network continues to grow - trusted by more than 900 institutions and visited by over 14 million prospective postgraduates each year - giving you both reach and relevance. We combine that scale with tailored guidance, shaped to your region, subject mix, and timeline.

If we didn’t connect in Gothenburg, or if you’d like to continue a good conversation, please complete our enquiry form to be connected with a member of our team.
